About Me:
Hello and thanks for visiting my website! I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. You can find my CV here. As both a researcher and a teacher, I strive to create opportunities for teachers and students that empower them as knowers and doers of mathematics and elevate their voices and experiences. Math can be a creative and purposeful endeavor connected to each of our lived experiences. I grew up in northwest Indiana and I completed my bachelors degree in mathematics and secondary education in 2007 from Saint Mary's College located in Notre Dame, Indiana. I completed a Masters in Mathematics Education in 2009 and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education in 2014 both from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. While working on my Ph.D., I was a middle-school mathematics teacher and I still enjoy working alongside K-12 teachers as we collaboratively grow in our content knowledge and understanding of students. Outside of work, I enjoy being creative, knitting, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors. Many of my ponderings and experiences in these domains make their way into my mathematics research and teaching. Feel free to explore my website and learn more about my research and teaching experiences. |
